Aichi Scholarship Program for Asian Students in Japan

The Aichi Scholarship Program for Asian Students in Japan is launched by Aichi Prefectural Government. Aichi Prefectural Government is currently taking applications for the Aichi Scholarship Program. Utilizing scholarship money provided by the prefectural government, Students from Asia can travel to Aichi and enroll in graduate school to study the specialized fields and related subjects that support Aichi’s manufacturing industry. After completing their courses of study, these students will then be highly expected to seek employment within Aichi. Asian students can get the benefit of this scheme by satisfying the eligibility criteria which are mentioned below. Under this scheme selected candidate will be awarded School expenses, Living allowance etc. for applying this scheme please refer below article applicant will be getting entire idea of the scholarship program. This scholarship is provided for Master courses or Research in Japan

Benefits of Aichi Scholarship Program for Asian Students in Japan:

  • Aichi Scholarship Program for Asian students in Japan provides benefits as mentioned below
  • Living Allowance: Applicant candidate will get 150,000 yen per month
  • Travel Expenses to Japan: Applicant candidate will be provided to each applicant to allow travel from their nearest international airport to Central Japan International Airport
  • School Expenses: School expenses are provided which are mentioned below
  • Entrance examination fee (research student): ¥9,800
    Entrance fee (research student): ¥84,600
    Tuition (six months; research student): ¥178,200
    Entrance examination fee (master’s course student): ¥30,000
    Entrance fee (master’s course student): ¥282,000
    Tuition (annual; master’s course student): ¥535,800

Required eligibility and conditions for applying Aichi Scholarship Program for Asian Students in Japan:

  1. Candidate must be a resident of one of the countries Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, China, East Timor, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore, South, Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, or Vietnam
  2. Applicants must be under 35 years of age as of April 1, 2016, i.e. born on or after April 2, 1981
  3. Applicant candidate must have bachelor’s degree
  4. Applicants must study a subject recognized as pertinent to the support of Aichi’s manufacturing industry
  5. Applicants must have a fairly good command of the Japanese language to study and seek employment in Aichi or have the prospect of obtaining sufficient language ability
  6. Applicants must have the intention to seek employment at a company that has its headquarters or a branch office located within Aichi
  7. Applicants must not be receiving scholarships or grants from any other organization, including the Japanese government and the government of their home country
  8. Spouses of students currently receiving scholarship money from the Aichi Prefectural Government are not eligible to apply
  9. Applicants must be admitted as a research student at a university or a graduate school within Aichi from the period of October 2016 to March 2017
  10. Period of Scholarship: 6 months for research students and 2 years for master courses

Document required for applying Aichi Scholarship Program for Asian Students in Japan:

  1. Application form (Form 1) which is available at Graduate School
  2. Pledge (Form 2) which is available at Graduate School
  3. Certificate of health (Form 3 issued within the past six months)
  4. Proof of graduation (copy of certificate of graduation, diploma, or degree) or a certificate of student status and proof of expected graduation (if the applicant is in college)
  5. Academic record issued by the university from which applicant graduated
  6. Certified copy of passport (if the applicant does not have a passport upon application, a certified copy of the applicant’s birth certificate or a citizenship certificate will be sufficient)
  7. Recommendation letter to the governor by the dean/department chairperson (or person of higher position) of the university department from which the applicant graduated (No specific form)
  8. Language certificate (English or Japanese),if available
  9. Three photographs (4 cm by 3 cm, taken within the last six months. In the photos, the applicant must be facing forward, the upper torso and face must be clearly visible, and the applicant must not be wearing a hat. The applicant’s name and nationality must be written on the back of each photo. One of these photos should be attached to the application in the space provided )
  10. The above documents should be written in Japanese or English and typed if possible

Application procedure:

  1. Applicants must apply through graduate schools located in Aichi. Applicant can collect applicant form from graduate itself, Process often starts in May
  2. Candidates are selected by committee and result outs in month of July
