Asian Development Bank Japan Scholarship Program

The Asian Development Bank-Japan Scholarship Program offers about 300 postgraduate scholarships a year for studies in economics, management, science and technology, and other development-related fields. The Asian Development Bank-Japan Scholarship Program provides full tuition fees, a monthly allowance for expenses, housing, books and instructional materials, medical insurance and travel. The program is open to those who have gained admission to an approved MA/Ph.D. course at a participating academic institution. Candidates should be 35 years old or younger; in good health. Scholarships are available to citizens of the following countries/areas: Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, Cook Islands, Georgia, India, Indonesia, Fiji, Kazakhstan, Kiribati, Kyrgyz Republic, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Malaysia, Maldives, Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nauru, Nepal, Pakistan, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Tonga, Turkmenistan, Tuvalu, Uzbekistan, Vanuatu, Viet Nam.

Required eligibility and conditions for applying for Asian Development Bank-Japan Scholarship Program:

  1. Candidate must be physically fit
  2. Candidate should not more than 35 years of age at the time of application, exceptions in special cases like senior officials and managers, the age limit is 45 years old
  3. Candidates UG degree or equivalent must be first class or superior academic record
  4. Candidate must have secured admission to an approved MA/Ph.D. course at an academic institution
  5. Should agree to return to his/her home country after completion of studies under the Program
  6. Applicant must have more than two-year experience
