Atal Asra Yojana by Government of Goa

Housing is one of the basic requirements of human survival. For a shelter less person, own house provides significant economic and social security and status in the society. So goa government has decided to provide financial help to the tribal to construct their houses and to conduct final rites of the community members. The objective of the scheme “Atal Asra Yojana” is to provide supplementary financial assistance for construction and repairs of houses to Dhangars which is in addition to the amount sanctioned under Rajiv Awas Yojana so that cost of borrowing is reduced for construction of houses by the poor Dhangar families. The scheme would be in addition to the amount sanctioned under the already existing Rajiv Awas Yojna so that the cost of borrowing is reduced for construction of houses by the poor tribal families.

Benefits of Atal Asra Yojana:

  • Atal Asra Yojana is for the Rural Poor and Needy. It provides benefits in the form of providing shelter to poor and needy. Benefits in details mentioned below
  • Under this scheme Constructing houses to the genuinely poor and needy rural, who need immediate shelter for a dignified existence are provided
  • Financial Assistance is provided for construction of New House is up to Rs. 2.50 Lakhs
  • Financial Assistance is provided for repairs of existing house is up to Rs. 1,00,000/-

Required Eligibility and Conditions for Applying Atal Asra Yojana: 

  1. Applicant must be permanent residence of Goa state
  2. BPL Dhangar families will be considered on first priority
  3. Poor women in distress, physically challenged (over 40%), mentally challenged, victims of domestic violence, destitute widows, women-headed HHs (Households), adult orphans of government registered institutions and victims of leprosy and AIDS all are eligible
  4. The Dhangar Families who have been sanctioned benefit/ /eligible for benefit under the scheme of Rajiv Awas Yojana or Indira Awas Yojana is also eligible

Document required for applying Atal Asra Yojana:

  1. BPL ration card (If available)
  2. Permanent residence proof e.g. certificate from residence authority
  3. Medical proof that stating candidate is victim of leprosy and AIDS
  4. Disability certificate
  5. Aadhar card
  6. Identity proof e.g. voter ID
  7. Ration card
  8. Bank pass book copy

Application Procedure:

  1. Prescribed Application along with the required documents be submitted to the Director of Panchayats in Rural area and Director of Social Welfare in Urban areas
  2. The application should also be submitted with the detailed estimate of the construction or of the repairs of the existing house
