Deen Dayal Swasthya Seva Yojana – Health Insurance Scheme in Goa (DDSSY)

Goa Government has launched Deen Dayal swasthya Seva yojana, the health insurance scheme for the people of Goa. This scheme will benefit people residing in the state for 5 and more years. Goa is the first of India to have health insurance scheme which will benefit all the resident of the state irrespective of their financial status. The state government introduce this scheme in order to provide its people, quality medical care and treatment of diseases hospitalization and surgery through Government and private hospitals. Thus, Health insurance could be an innovative way of overcoming financial handicaps, improving access to quality medical care and providing financial protection against high medical expenses to the people of the State of Goa.

Benefits of Health Insurance Scheme in Goa:

  • The benefits under this scheme should be provided on a cashless basis to the beneficiaries up to the limit of their annual income, as per details mentioned below
  • The insurance will cover up to ₹ 2.5 lakh per annum for a family of three or less members
  • The insurance will cover up to ₹ 4 lakh for a family of four and more members
  • The insurance benefits can be availed individually or collectively by members of the family
  • The scheme will be applicable in all Government and private hospitals across the state

Eligibility of Health Insurance Scheme in Goa:

  1. Any person residing in the State of Goa for five years or more is declared eligible person under Deen Dayal swasthya Seva yojana

Terms and Condition of Health Insurance Scheme in Goa:

  1. Familyof eligible person is defined as his/her Spouse and Unmarried children and Dependent Parent(s) / In-Laws (In case eligible Family person is female). This family unit cannot be split
  2. Central/State Government employees and their families covered under government medical reimbursement are not eligible under Deen Dayal swasthya Seva yojana (DDSSY)
  3. Under any circumstances the claim will not exceed Rs. 4 lakh annually

Documents Required for Health Insurance Scheme in Goa:

  1. Application Form
  2. Aadhar card
  3. Residence proof of all eligible Person (Documents issued minimum 5 year ago)
  4. Ration card
  5. Non-creamy Layer certificate for OBC caste
  6. Caste certificate for SC/ST Caste
  7. Differently abled eligible person – Disability certificate issued by Medical Board
  8. Above Self attested photocopies of original documents to be attached along with the forms
