Dr. Ambedkar Medical Aid Scheme in Pudduchery

The Dr. Ambedkar Medical Aid Scheme launched by Central Government and implemented by Pudduchery State Government, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The main objective behind introducing this scheme is to provide 100% cash assistance for getting treatment for life threatening diseases like Kidney, Heart and Liver, Cancer and Brain or any other to Scheduled Caste. For getting benefits under this scheme applicant candidate need to get Original Estimated Cost certificate duly signed by the Medical Superintendent of the concerned hospital and need to qualify some eligibility criteria. The benefits under this scheme is provided in particular mentioned hospitals in below. Pudduchery residence people can take benefits under this scheme easily.

Required eligibility and conditions for applying Dr. Ambedkar Medical Aid Scheme:

  1. Candidates of Scheduled Caste are eligible only
  2. Annual family income should not more than Rs. 50,000 per annum
  3. Those who are suffering from major ailments which need surgery such as kidney, heart, liver, cancer, brain or any other life threatening disease including knee surgery and spinal surgery are eligible

Document required for applying Dr. Ambedkar Medical Aid Scheme:

  1. Caste certificate
  2. Income certificate not more than Rs. 50,000 per annum
  3. BPL Ration card
  4. Aadhar card
  5. Permanent residence proof
  6. Identity card of family members
  7. Passport size photograph

Application procedure:

  1. The applicant should apply for medical aid through the prescribed application form, duly certified by the Medical Superintendent of the concerned Hospitals.

  3. The application shall be recommended and forwarded by the Members of the General Body of Dr. Ambedkar Foundation or local sitting Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha or Rajya Sabha) or by the District Magistrate & Collector / Deputy Commissioner of the concerned District or the Secretary in-charge of Health & Social Welfare Departments of the State/UT. The duly filled in form should reach the Director, Dr. Ambedkar Foundation, 15, Janpath, New Delhi, at least 15 days before the date of surgery. All the applications received will be processed in Dr. Ambedkar Foundation
