Financial Assistance to Blind & Orthopedically Handicapped Advocates scheme is launched by the State Government of Kerala in association with Social Justice Department. In this scheme, the government provides financial assistance to advocates who are blind & Orthopedically Handicapped. Blind advocates practising in any court in the State of Kerala can avail for benefits under this scheme. Initially, the government gives the non-recurring grant of Rs.2500/- for the purchase of books, provisional suits etc & also the allowance of Rs.1000/- per month for a period of 5 years. Advocates who are suffering from cerebral palsy are eligible for Rs.2,500 for their initial expenses. In the past few years, positive changes happening in the perception of the society towards persons with disabilities. It has been realized now that a majority of persons with disabilities can lead a better quality of life if they have equal opportunities & effective access to rehabilitation measures. Regarding this, Kerala government took very good initiative for advocates by providing them financial assistance. Kerala is known as most literate state in India and this kind of steps are really appreciable

Eligibility criteria for Financial Assistance to Blind & Orthopedically Handicapped Advocates:

  1. Applicant should be resident of Kerala state
  2. The annual income of the family should not be more than Rs. 18,000/-
  3. Blind & orthopedically handicapped advocates practising in any court in the State of Kerala are eligible for this scheme

Documents required for Financial Assistance to Blind & Orthopedically Handicapped Advocates:

  1. Aadhaar card
  2. Application form
  3. Physically handicapped certificate
  4. Passport size photos
  5. Degree certificate

How to apply for Financial Assistance to Blind & Orthopedically Handicapped Advocates:

  1. Applicant should fill the application form and attached all essential documents
  2. Submit the application form to the District Social Justice Offices (DSJOs) in Kerala
