This scheme is specially launched for the student of the scheduled tribe who is deprived of education just due to long distance and family financial condition from school to home. The main objective behind introducing this scheme is to provide education to each and every student of scheduled tribe students. Under this scheme, free residence and education facility will be provided to students of scheduled tribe students. This scheme intends to provide education to girl student means girls will no longer be deprived of education due to long-distance transport and financial assistance. Required eligibility and conditions for applying Government Aashram Shala Scheme for Scheduled Tribe Students in Maharashtra:

  1. Applicant student must be permanent residents of Maharashtra
  2. Applicant must belong to scheduled tribe (ST)
  3. Applicant students must have completed age of year 5 as on 31st July of year
  4. Priority will be given to a child of divorce, widow, poor etc.
  5. Students who are living around 1 km area of Aashram Shala are not eligible
  6. There will be ratio of 50:50 for admission of girls and boys
  7. There will be 3% reservation for disabled students
  8. Priority will be given to BPL students
