Jyothi Sanjeevini Scheme

The Jyothi Sanjeevini scheme is started by Karnataka government for the government employees. The main objective of this scheme is to provide quality “tertiary health care” for the treatment of catastrophic illnesses involving hospitalization, surgery, and other therapies through an identified network of super specialty hospitals and the scheme provides cashless treatment to all the government employees and their dependents through an empaneled network of hospitals for  Tertiary Care

Benefits of Jyothi Sanjeevini Scheme:

  • The Jyothi Sanjeevini scheme provides cashless/ free treatment to government employee and employees dependents for tertiary health care
  • The scheme covers tertiary treatment of 7 broad specialties via Cardiology, Oncology, Genito Urinary Surgery, Neurology, Burns, Poly-Trauma cases (excluding medico-legal cases) and Neo-Natal & Pediatric Surgery

Required eligibility and conditions for applying Jyothi Sanjeevini Scheme:

  1. “Beneficiary” means and relates to all State government employees and their dependent family members defined by the government of Karnataka from time to time and as such all of them are covered under this scheme
  2. The government servants will not be eligible if the benefits are already availed “in any of the other” government-sponsored health schemes

 Beneficiaries Identification for applying Jyothi Sanjeevini Scheme:

  1. The beneficiary is identified by virtue of Karnataka government insurance department’s policy number which gets interacted with the HRMS database of the department of personnel and administrative reforms of the government of Karnataka. The government has allowed Suvarna Arogya Suraksha trust to access the database of the government servants for the purpose of identifying the government servants and their dependents. The dependant family members of a government servant include as defined under Rule 2(1) of clause (i) (ii) & (iii) of Karnataka government servants (Medical Attendant) Rules, 1963 which defines as under:
  • (i)  The father and mother (including step-mother) if they ordinarily reside with the government servant and their total monthly income does not exceed Rs. 6,000
  • (ii) Children including adopted children and stepchildren, of a government servant who are wholly dependent on such government servant. The above details shall be declared and certified by the government servant
  • (iii) The wife or husband of the government servant
