Mahatari Jatan Yojana (MJY)

Mahatari Jatan Yojana is the very recent scheme of Chhattisgarh Government to improve the health of pregnant women in the state. Recently Chhattisgarh saw some devastating results of having very poor health and medical facilities in the case where near about 15-20 women died and more than 50 were hospitalized after the sterilization operation went wrong due to wrong drug. To avoid any such further incidence where people suffer due to bad conditions and poverty Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh launched the scheme Mahatari Jatan Yojana on May 2nd 2016 at Ambikapur. Under the scheme near about 2.5 lakhs pregnant women will get 250 grams of hot cooked food at all anganwadi centers across the state. The breakdown of the food is like 130 grams of rice, 30 gram of mix dal, 10 grams soya oil, 80 gram vegetables to each beneficiary which will give 662.9 kilo calories additionally beneficiary will get 600 gram of ready to eat packet for six days. In this way Chhattisgarh govt. is targeting the all new ways to improve health conditions in the state.

Eligibility for Mahatari Jatan Yojana:

  1. Pregnant women, Lactating mothers
  2. Women must be from BPL family
  3. Must be a resident of Chhattisgarh state

  1. Proof of residence (Electricity bill, Water connection bill, Gas connection bill, Ration card, Aadhar card, Voter card, Driving license)
  2. Aadhar card

  4. Medical reports
  5. BPL card

Application form:

Women willing to get the benefit of the scheme need to visit nearest anganwadi center, and further all procedures are directed by them.
