Mahila Samridhi Yojna

The Mahila Samridhi Yojna is started by central government (Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment) National Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation (NBCFDC) to provide Micro Finance to women entrepreneur Self Help Groups (SHGs) belonging to the target group means backward classes for the empowerment of women

Benefits of Mahila Samridhi Yojna:

  • Each beneficiary women would get maximum up to Rs. 50,000 as a loan for entrepreneurship
  • NBCFDC will provide 95% of amount for business startup and rest 5% has to contribute by SCA (state channelizing agencies) or beneficiary
  • Loan is to be repaid in quarterly installments within 48 months (including the moratorium period of six months on the recovery of principal)
  • Less Rate of Interest
    1. From NBCFDC to SCA: 1% per annum
    2. SCA to Beneficiary: 4% per annum

Required eligibility for Mahila Samridhi Yojna:

  1. Women should belong to backward classes e.g. OBC
  2. The annual income of women beneficiary in a rural area should be less than Rs. 98,000 per year
  3. The annual income of women beneficiary in an urban area should be less than Rs. 1,20,000 per year
  4. The loan amount has to invest 4 months from date of disbursement
  5. (SGH) Self Help Groups can have 20 as a maximum number of women
  6. Beneficiary women should have completed 18 years of age

Application procedure for applying Mahila Samridhi Yojna and document required:  

  1. Income certificate less than Rs. 1,20,000 per year for urban and less than Rs. 98,000 per year for rural
  2. Caste certificate
  3. Aadhar card
  4. Residence proof e.g. electricity bill, ration card
  5. Identity proof
  6. Bank details, account holder name, account number, IFSC code, MICR code
  7. Registration number if any organization is there like self-help group

Application procedure:

  1. Prospective eligible beneficiaries should apply on prescribed form (available with the SCA) to Office of SCA where he/she normally resides
  2. The applicant should clearly mention his/her felt needs and choice of vocation and training requirements, if any, in the application form
  3. The applicant should fulfill eligibility criteria (should belong to backward class and living below double poverty line)
  4. Submit documents as a proof of the same such as caste and income certificate issued by competent authority like Tahsildar/Sub-Divisional Magistrate/District Collector etc
  5. The loan is sanctioned by SCA to the applicant keeping in view the availability of funds and fulfillment of eligibility criteria by the beneficiaries & completion of required documentation
