The Mamoni Scheme is started by Assam government (Ministry of Health and Family Welfare) to reduce to reduce Maternal Mortality Ratio. Mamoni scheme will encourage the pregnant women to undergo 3 ante-natal checkups so that any danger sign could be detected during pregnancy at earliest and proper treatment could be offered. The scheme provides a pregnant woman a booklet on the tips of safe motherhood and newborn care. The aim of the scheme is to reduce Maternal Mortality Ratio along with the pregnant women receive an amount of Rs. 1000 in the second and third ante-natal checkups for expenses related to nutritional food and supplements.

Benefits of Mamoni Scheme:
- Mamoni Scheme provides benefits in the form of financial assistance and safe motherhood
- Cash assistance will be provided to Pregnant Women for Nutritional support Rs.┬а1000 in two installments
- Scheme will lead to reducing IMR and MMR rate
Required eligibility and conditions for applying Mamoni Scheme:
- Candidate women must have the Mother and Child Health Care (MCH Card) provided by the health institution during 1st ANC
- All pregnant women in the state of Assam are eligible
- The pregnant women are required to take 1st, 2nd and 3rd ANC (ante-natal checkup)
Document required for applying Mamoni Scheme:
- Mother and Child Health Card (MCH Card) provided by the health institution during 1st ANC
- Aadhar card
- Residence proof e.g. certificate form residence authority
- BPL ration card (if available)
- Bank details e.g. account holder name, account number, IFSC code, MICR code
Application procedure:
- There is no special application procedure. Those women are taking treatment from government institution they are going to get benefits automatically
