Mukhya Mantri Vivah Shagun Yojna in Haryana

The Mukhya Mantri Vivah Shagun Yojna is introduced by Haryana State Government, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Department of Social Welfare. The main objective behind introducing this scheme is to provide financial assistance to girls from SC/DT or OBC/SBC families living below poverty line and widows/divorced/destitute women/ orphan and destitute children for marriage and to ensure that the girls from poor families and daughters of widows/destitute women, sportswomen, an orphan girl child, are married gracefully. Under this scheme enough financial is provided to celebrate marriage ceremony. For taking benefits under this scheme applicant girl need to qualify some eligibility norms which are mentioned below

Benefits of Mukhya Mantri Vivah Shagun Yojna:

  • Mukhya Mantri Vivah Shagun Yojna provides benefits in the form of financial assistance to girls from SC/DT or OBC/SBC families living below poverty line and widows/divorced/destitute women/ orphan and destitute children. Rates of financial assistance mentioned below
  • Amount of Rs. 31000 is provided to sportswoman (any caste/any income)
  • Amount of Rs. 41000 is provided. Out of this an amount of Rs. 36,000 is to be paid on or before the celebration of marriage and amount of Rs. 5,000 is to be paid within 6 months on submission of marriage registration certificate. No balance amount will be paid if marriage registration certificate is not submitted within 6 months
  • Amount of Rs. 11000 is provided to the persons all sections of society living below poverty line (other than SC’s) and all section’s families (including SC/BC) having a land holding of fewer than 2.5 acres or whose family annual income is less than Rs. 1, 00,000 per annum. Out of this an amount of Rs. 10,000 is to be paid on or before the celebration of marriage and amount of Rs. 1,000 is to be paid within 6 months on submission of marriage registration certificate. No balance amount will be paid if marriage registration certificate is not submitted within 6 months

Required eligibility and conditions for applying Mukhya Mantri Vivah Shagun Yojna:

  1. Girls of SC/DT or OBC/SBC families living below poverty line and widows/divorced/destitute women/ orphan and destitute children
  2. Income certificate of should not more than Rs. 1 lakh per annum only for OBC/SBC
  3. Candidate must be Haryana domicile
  4. Age of bride should be 18 years or more
  5. Age of groom should be 21 years or more
  6. Benefit is given up to marriage of 2 daughters of a person
  7. Widow/divorce woman can take benefit for her own marriage provided she has not taken this benefit earlier
  8. Family must be belonging to BPL (Below Poverty Line) category

Document required for applying Mukhya Mantri Vivah Shagun Yojna:

  1. Beneficiary’s permanent residence proof
  2. Age proof of groom e.g. HSC, SSC Board certificate, Birth certificate
  3. Age proof of bride e.g. HSC, SSC Board certificate, Birth certificate
  4. Aadhar card
  5. BPL Ration card
  6. Caste certificate
  7. Bank account details e.g. account number, IFSC code, MICR code, branch name
  8. Divorce certificate in case of divorce women
  9. Income certificate of head of the family
  10. Marriage certificate of marriage

Application procedure:

  1. The applicant should submit this online application form one month before the date of marriage on haryanawelfareschemes.org  DWO (District Welfare Officer) will sanction the grant and payment will be made through Aadhar linked bank account
  2. In case of application is submitted after the date of marriage, the competent authorities for the sanction of shagun are as under
  3. Up to one month after marriage: District Welfare Officer
  4. Up to 3 months after marriage: Deputy Commissioner
  5. Up to 6 months after marriage: Concerned Divisional Commissioner
