Mukhyamantri Baans Badi Yojana is a new scheme introduced by the Forest Department (Government of Chhattisgarh) to fulfill the requirement of bamboos in the upcoming years. In the current year 2016-17, a budget of Rs. 2.50 crore has been provisioned for the Mukhyamantri Baans Baadi Yojana. Under this scheme, State government will provide high-quality saplings of bamboo to villagers for free of cost to grow bamboos in the backyards of houses in villages and other areas such as farms. The government also provide information and guidelines for planting and production of bamboos to villagers at free of cost so than the demand of bamboo fulfill in the upcoming year. Bamboo is known as the Poor Man’s Timber which is used for producing various things like baskets, toys, manufacturing of buildings, for building shelters, furniture’s and a large number of products is made using bamboo. Besides this, it is an eco-friendly option because its plants release 30 percent more oxygen compared to the other plants species. This scheme helps to fulfill the demand of bamboos in the state by increasing production and villagers also get some extra income. Bamboo scheme will play an important role in catalyzing Prime Minister’s initiative to increase the income of farmers and also play an important role towards the Growth of Chhattisgarh.
