NCERT Doctoral Fellowship

This fellowship is presented by the National Council of Education research and training for the candidates who are doing research in training and related field of teaching. The specializations offered are Pyscho-social development of students, circular practices, Education for Peace, classroom processes and practices and Education of the disadvantaged. The selected candidate are able to pursue their work in a recognized university/research institution of their choice. The NCERT fellowships will be given to extremely deserving candidates only. The objective of the scheme is to provide opportunities to young scholars to research the field of education from different disciplinary perspectives and to build the knowledge base of education in the contemporary context. The NCERT encourages original thinking in conceptualization of the problem and use of innovative methodology in conduct of the research related to school education.

Benefits of the NCERT Doctoral Fellowship:

  • The fellowship will be offered to 10 candidates out of which is 4 are reserved for Regional Institute of Education on each for Ajmer, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar and Mysore
  • The fellowship will be offered for period of 3 years
  • The candidate who have qualified NET examination will get Rs. 16,000/- per month and the candidate who is not qualified for NET examination will get Rs. 12,000/- per as a monthly allowance
  • Candidate will also receive a contingency grant of Rs. 10,000/- per annum during this period

Required Eligibility and Conditions for Applying NCERT Doctoral Fellowship: 

  1. The applicant must not be above than 35 years of age as on the last date of receipt of application
  2. He/she should have good academic record with minimum 60% marks at both Graduate and Post Graduate levels
  3. Those candidates are eligible for NCERT Doctoral Fellowships who are registered for Ph.D. Degree in a recognized university or working toward their Ph.D. registration are eligible to apply
  4. Candidates applying for Doctoral Fellowship should have either completed pre-doctoral research methodology course or enrolled for such course for appropriate duration as approved by UGC
  5. Each Doctoral Fellows will be required to present a seminar at the last of each semester
  6. The selected candidates will be under obligation to present public lecture on larger issues of public interest relevant to their doctoral research work

  4. Attested copy of class XII Mark sheet
  5. Attested copy of Mark sheet Graduation
  6. Attested copy of Mark sheet Post-Graduation
  7. Attested copy of Mark sheet Diploma or other Exam
  8. Certificate from University/institute
  9. Publications if any
  10. Detailed CV of Guide
  11. Proof of Registration
  12. Signature of Candidate
