The Post-matric Scholarship for Minority Students is started by Odisha State Government (Ministry of Social Justice and Welfare) ST & SC Development and Minority & Other Backward Classes Welfare Department. The main objective of this scheme is to provide financial assistance to the meritorious students belongs to Minority community to pursue higher education in engineering, medical etc. for the better future opportunity. Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Jains, and Zoroastrians (Parsis) are eligible for getting scholarship along with candidate must be the permanent residents of Odisha state and low family income

Benefits of Post-matric Scholarship for Minority Students:

  • Post Matric Scholarship for Minority Students provides benefits in the form of financial assistance to get higher education for a better opportunity in future. Rates of scholarship are mentioned below
  • For class XI and XII: Rs. 7000 per annum
  • For technical and vocational class XI and XII level: Rs. 10,000 per annum
  • For undergraduate and postgraduate: Rs. 3000 per annum
  • Maintenance allowance for technical and vocational class XI and XII level: For day scholar Rs. 230 per month and for hosteller Rs. 380 per month
  • Courses other than technical and professional courses at undergraduate and PG level: For day scholar Rs. 300 per month and for hosteller Rs. 570 per month
  • Phil and Ph.D.: For day scholar Rs. 550 per month and for hosteller Rs. 1200 per month

Required eligibility and conditions for applying Post-matric Scholarship for Minority Students:

  1. Candidate must be a permanent residence of Odisha State
  2. The annual income of parents must not exceed more than Rs. 200000 (2 lakh)
  3. Candidate must be continuing his/her post matriculation studies successfully in any general and technical professional courses in any Government Institute
  4. Candidate must belong to minority community
  5. 30% of scholarships are reserved for girl students

Application procedure and documents required for applying Post-matric Scholarship for Minority Students:

  1. Income certificate not exceeding more than Rs. 200000 (2 lakh)
  2. Minority community declaration – affidavit on non-judicial stamp paper by the student that he/she belongs to any one of the minority communities notified by Central Government.
  3. Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Jains, and Zoroastrians (Parsis) are able to get a scholarship
  4. Domicile certificate
  5. Residence proof e.g. certificate from residence authority
  6. Aadhar card
  7. Bank Details e.g. IFSC code, MICR code, Account number, Account holder name, Branch name
  8. School Marksheets and certificates
  9. Bonafide certificate
  10. Passport size photograph

Application procedure:
