Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme for Central Armed Police Forces & Assam Rifles

Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) launches new Scholarship Program known as- Prime Minister Scholarship (PMSS) for Central Armed Police Forces & Assam Rifles. Prime Minister Scholarship Scheme (PMSS) under the support of the National Defense Fund, was introduced from the academic years 2016-2017 to encourage higher Technical & Professional education for the Dependent Wards & Widows of Central Police Forces & Assam Rifles (CAPFs & AR) Personal. Total 2000 of Scholarship to be sanctioned equally for Both Girls & Boys under PMSS will be given for the each academic year. Duration of Scholarship is 1 to 5 years depending upon the duration of the course being pursued by the applicant and as approved by the respective regulatory body.

Benefits of Scholarship Scheme for Central Armed Police Forces & Assam Rifles:

  • Scholarship Scheme for Central Armed Police Forces & Assam Rifles provided benefits in the form of financial assistance
  • The scholarship amount is Rs.27000/- per annum for girls i.e. Rs. 2250/- per month
  • The scholarship amount is Rs.24000/- per annum for boys i.e. Rs. 2000/- per month

Required eligibility and conditions for Scholarship Scheme for Central Armed Police Forces & Assam Rifles:

  1. Wards/widows of deceased CAPFs & AR personnel died in harness/election duty, wards of personnel disabled due to causes attributable to Government service and Wards of Ex-CAPFs & AR personnel in receipt of Gallantry Awards are eligible
  2. Wards/widows of retired and serving CAPFs & AR Personnel. (Personnel below Officer Rank) is eligible
  3. Pursuing first professional degree program in the field of Engineering, Medicine, Dental, Veterinary, BBA, BCA, B. Pharma, B.SC (Nursing, Agriculture, etc.), MBA and MCA etc. are eligible
  4. Having minimum 60% marks in Minimum Entry Qualification (MEQ) i.e. 10+2/Diploma/Graduation or equivalent in case of new applicant
  5. For applicants applying under renewal category, it is mandatory to pass the each subsequent academic year of the professional courses being pursued by them with minimum 50% marks
  6. A grace period of one year only for cases, where there is a delay on part of candidate for submission of application for renewal of scholarship may be entertained

Document required for applying Scholarship Scheme for Central Armed Police Forces & Assam Rifles:

  1. Service Certificate to be issued by the H.O.O
  2. Bonafide certificate to be issued by the Registrar/Dean/Principal
  3. A cancelled leaflet of a blank crossed cheque and copy of the pass book clearly showing the account number and name of the account holder
  4. Applicants are required to upload duly attested scanned copy of the Mark sheet of 10th and 12th
  5. Birth Certificate
  6. Discharge certificate
  7. Dependent Certificate
  8. Disability Certificate
  9. Death Certificate
  10. Certificate of Gallantry award

  1. From the academic year 2015-16 onward, the Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme (PMSS) for CAPFs & AR will be implemented through National Scholarship Portal

  3. Click for registration fill required information
  4. ID and Password will be generated
  5. The make a login by enter ID and Password
  6. Application form will open fill the required information along with upload photograph
  7. Finally, submit the form for Application verification
