Promotion of Science Education (POSE) Scholarship

Promotion of Science Education (POSE) Scholarship Scheme was introduced by the Department of Science and Technology, Haryana for the meritorious students in pure/basic science courses at Under Graduate and Post Graduate level and to continue their study up to research level. The scholarships are awarded for students who have enrolled in M.Sc. (Two years course) and B.Sc. Honours (Three years course) in the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology and Geology in Universities / Colleges of Haryana. POSE Scholarship is offered to 100 Students of Bsc General and 100 Stuents of Msc general.

Benefits of the Promotion of Science Education Scholarship Scheme:

  • Promotion of Science Education Scholarship Scheme provides Scholarship in the form of financial assistance. Rates of scholarship are mentioned below:
  • The amount of scholarship for the students studying in B.Sc. (Honours) classes will be Rs 4000/- per month plus contingency stipend of 4000/- once in a year
  • The amount of scholarship for the students studying in M.Sc. classes will be 6000/- per month plus contingency stipend of Rs. 5000/- once in a year
  • The selected students will get mentorship grant (one time) of 12,000/- in 3-year B.Sc. Programme, Rs.17000/- in 4-year B.S. Programme, Rs.22000/- in 5-year integrated M.Sc. Programme and Rs.10000/- in 2-year M.Sc. Programme

Required Eligibility and Conditions for Applying Promotion of Science Education Scholarship Scheme:

  1. For Under Graduate / B.Sc. (General) students:
  2. Students taking admission in B.Sc. General (Medical or Non-Medical) -1st year in the colleges / universities located within Haryana
  3. Students taking B.Sc. (Non-Medical) course must have chosen any two subjects out of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Geology
  4. Students taking B.Sc. (Medical) course must have chosen any two subjects out of Botany, Zoology, Chemistry / Geology
  5. Only those students would be eligible who have obtained minimum 70% marks or equivalent grade in 10+2 class
  6. The institution / school from where the 10+2 examination has been passed should be situated in Haryana / Chandigarh. The students passing their 10+2 from outside Haryana should have to produce the Domicile / Resident certificate along with the application
  7. For Post Graduate / M.Sc. students:
  8. Students taking admission in M.Sc. (Previous) in any one of the basic science subjects out of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology and Geology in the colleges / universities located within Haryana
  9. Only those students would be eligible who have obtained minimum 70% marks or equivalent grade in B.Sc. (or BA in case of M.Sc. Mathematics)
  10. The institution / college from where the B.Sc. /B.A. examination has been passed should be situated in Haryana / Chandigarh. The students passing their B.Sc. /B.A. from outside Haryana should have to produce the Domicile / Resident certificate along with the application

Document Required for Applying Promotion of Science Education Scholarship Scheme:

  1. Signature of the applicant
  2. Photograph of the applicant
  3. 10th standard certificate
  4. 12th Class Certificate
  5. Sc. /B.A. Class Certificate (mandatory for the students applying for 2-year M.Sc.)
  6. Certificate of admission from Head/Principal/Registrar/Director of the college/university/institute
  7. In case the student passed his/her 12th class from rural area then the rural area school certificate is mandatory for the students having 80% to 84.99% marks
  8. Rural area certificate of class 11th & 12th if claimed 5% additional weightage (if student claim additional weightage of 5% for rural area that rural area certificate should be mandatory)
  9. Declaration from the student

Application Procedure:

  2. Click on LOG-IN option and create User id and password for applying POSE scholarship
  3. Read guidelines for application acceptance, eligibility & requirements for the E-form, and click on submit online option
  4. Fill all the columns given there and upload all required documents in the form
  5. Submit the e-form and you will get receipt number for further communication. After online submission of application the applicant must obtained a printout of the submitted application for his/her record and don’t send the application by post
  6. Don’t submit more than one application. Please ensure that the aspects of the application are correct before submitting
  7. Wrongly filled up application or application with lack of essential documents will summarily be rejected
