Seema Darshan-An Initiative of Ministry of Human Resource Development

‘Seema Darshan’ is a unique initiative being taken up by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, in which school children are visiting the border areas of our country and present before our soldiers and troops an array of performances showcasing the tradition and culture of our country through traditional songs and dances. The Seema Darshan program will also give an actual picture of the security that the Jawans deliver at the border areas and this experience will stay with them forever. The youth of India can connect more with the nation and this will help them to grow nationalism and respect of India among them. The children exposed to border areas and learn from them.

The main objective of the programme is to provide the students with a first-hand experience of the prevailing security environment in the border areas. The other objectives are to foster patriotism and nationalism among the students and to provide an opportunity for the children to experience the border environment. The sources said, such an exposure will enable the students to get a feel of the conditions under which security personnel operate. This will also be a career guidance course for students.

Seema Darshan Program Key Feature:

  • It is a unique initiative being taken up by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, in which school children are visiting the border areas of our country and present before our soldiers and troops an array of performances showcasing the tradition and culture of our country through traditional songs and dances.
  • Child artists would demonstrate to the Jawans how they are preserving and taking forward the cultural legacy of that country for which the armed forces are constantly on the vigil and also protecting and guarding its borders.
  • This kind of programme will not only inspire children but also boost the morale of our soldiers on this Republic Day.
  • The Ministry of Human Resource Development in collaboration with the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Home affairs is organizing ‘Seema Darshan’ programme for students for a period of five days

Objectives of Seema Darshan Program:

  1. The main objective of the programme is to provide the students with a first-hand experience of the prevailing security environment in the border areas
  2. The other objectives are to foster patriotism and nationalism among the students and to provide an opportunity for the children to experience the border environment

Schools Participating:

  1. Students of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti will be participating in a programme, in which 30 students each would be visiting Akhnoor and Attari Borders
  2. Only class 11th students from the schools have been included in this group

Future aim of Seema Darshan Program:

  1. The aim is to encourage future leaders of the country to be more aware of the environment
  2. In case this pilot project is successful, then in future students will be taken to the Siachen Glacier, North Kashmir, eastern borders in Arunachal Pradesh and also on ships and the sea coast
