State Subsidy Scheme

State Subsidy Scheme by Himachal Pradesh government is the scheme under which the state government will provide grains, oil and salt at subsidy rate to the people who are poor and from below poverty line. The scheme was launched in the year 2012 and since then it served food to many poor families. Under the scheme beneficiary gets Daal, Edible oil and Iodine salt. Himachal Pradesh is anyway well known for its vegetation and being in the hilly region its most population is dependent on either on tourism or farming. The earning is not well in there and here state government gave the helping hand to the poor. The state government is very dedicated to the scheme and this can be proved by the money they are investing in the scheme. Initially when scheme was launched government sanctioned Rs. 175 crore for the scheme but now the amount increased to Rs. 220 crore for the preceding years. And today state government is serving all BPL people in the state.

Benefits of State Subsidy Scheme:

  • Subsidized Daal: The scheme provides 3 Kg of daal to the beneficiary
  • Subsidized Edible oil: Under the scheme apart from daal beneficiary also gets 2 liters of edible oil
  • Iodine salt: Iodine being one of important component for the body government knows its importance and hence provides iodine at a subsidized rate

Eligibility for State Subsidy Scheme:

  1. Must be the resident of Himachal Pradesh state
  2. Must be from Below Poverty Line

Documents Required:

To get the benefit of the scheme:

  1. Only Ration Card is required

To get the Ration card:

  1. Residential Proof (electricity bill, water connection bill, gas connection bill, ration card, voter id, Aadhar card, pan card or driving license)
  2. Aadhar Card
  3. Details of every family member

Application form:

To get the subsidized food, beneficiary need to carry just a ration card to the shopkeeper selling food grains at subsidized rates.

  2. Civil Services Department (to apply for the ration card)
