The Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Mr. Raman Singh has introduced the new scheme called “Suchita Yojana” for installing automated sanitary napkin vending machines in all the government schools in Chhattisgarh. Raman Singh has inaugurated Suchita Yojana during the National Girl Child Day program at Telibandha area, Chhattisgarh. Under this scheme, the government has installed automated sanitary napkin vending machines around 2,000 government schools in the Chhattisgarh state. The government will also install Eco-Friendly incinerators in government schools for safe and environmentally friendly disposal of used napkins. The government has the aim to provide 72,000 napkins to a girl’s students at free of cost in government schools. Later, the government will provide napkins to girl students at a cost of Rs.2 per napkin. The government installs automated sanitary napkin vending machines inside the girl’s washrooms in all government schools. The main objective of the scheme is to encourage girls to maintain personal and menstrual hygiene. It will also remove the hesitation of a girl to buy sanitary napkins from the shop. Chhattisgarh state has the second best sex ratio after Kerala in the country. During the inauguration programme, the chief minister of Chhattisgarh also told people to stop the social evil of female foeticide and promote girl education
