Sugarcane Development Programme Under NFSM Commercial Crops for Sugarcane Farmers in Maharashtra

Sugarcane Development Programme under NFSM is launched by the central government of India. This scheme is implemented by Maharashtra government under national food security mission. Sugarcane Development Programme is started in the year 2001-02 for the development of commercial crop sugarcane. The programme is implemented by the state with the help of central on 60:40 ratios. The main purpose of this programme is to decrease production cost or increase production, to give training to farmers and employee for using technology, area wise campaign about developed technology, to use good quality crops for sugarcane production, to use scientific method, to increase knowledge of farmers and employee about sugarcane development, to use micro-irrigation for water conservation. Sugarcane Development Programme is implemented in Aurangabad, Jalna, Beed, Latur, Usmanabad, Nanded, Parbhani, Hingoli district in Maharashtra. The minimal production Taluka or village is choosing for sugarcane development programme. Maharashtra state is one of the large sugarcane production states in India and environment for sugarcane is favorable in Maharashtra.
