Tribal Homestead Fruit Trees and Vegetables Planted Plan

To reduce the malnutrition rate in the remote tribal homestead,  to implement a plan for the planting of vegetables and fruit in remote areas the government of Maharashtra started a scheme for tribal in January 2015. The rate of Malnutrition in tribal areas is huge. Because of this to encourage the tribes to plant a vegetables and fruit in the field the government of Maharashtra started a scheme in Melghat and Dharni. The aim of the plan is to include nutritive food and vitamins in their daily food and intakes. The government has sanction Rs. 10 Lakh rupee to implement this scheme. Because of this,  the scheme will implement in following tribe district; Thane, Palghar, Pune, Nasik, Dhule, Nanded, Nundurabar, Jalgaon, Ahmadnagar, Gadchiroli, Amravati, Chandrapur, Yavatmal. This can help to prevent some of the problems of malnutrition in these areas. In year 2016-17, total 8000 tribes gets the benefit of this scheme. In this scheme the beneficiary can plant following vegetables and fruit trees; Chiku, Lemon, Papaya, and Potato, etc. and other vegetables as per demand.

Benefit of the Tribal Homestead Fruit Trees and Vegetables Planted Plan:

  • Beneficiary will get Planting instrument of Rs. 150/- which helps plantation of vegetable and fruit trees
  • Beneficiary will also get Rs. 100/- for other instruments which are needed
  • If beneficiary has all instruments then they will get Rs. 250/- for Fruit/vegetable Seeds
  • Beneficiary will also get training about plantation and how to develop it

Eligibility for Tribal Homestead Fruit Trees and Vegetables Planted Plan:

  1. All tribe farmers eligible for this programme
  2. All interested tribe people who want to do farming of vegetables and fruits are eligible
  3. All tribes are eligible for this program for minimum 5 yrars

  1. Applicant 7/12
  2. Applicant Aadhaar card
  3. Applicant bank account details

Application Procedure:                     

  1. Tribal Homestead Fruit Trees and Vegetables Planted Plan is implemented by district or Taluka level agriculture officer
  2. Farmers also contact gram panchyat in villages
