To provide financial security and ensure welfare of non-working mothers and their children in the state.

On October 4, 2021 Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang announced AAMA scheme for welfare of non-working mothers in the state. Under this scheme a financial assistance of Rs. 20,000 will be provided to the beneficiary mother annually for ensuring her and her children’s welfare. This scheme aims at promoting the habit of savings in the people. It also intends to provide financial security to the women in the state. The implementing agency under the scheme will be Rural Development Department. Total budget of 100 crores for three years is set aside by the state government for this scheme. Scheme outlay for this year amounts to Rs. 32 crore.
