Aditya Birla Scholarship

Each year, the Aditya Birla Group offers a number of Aditya Birla Scholarship which is open to students for selected institutions in India. Aditya Birla Scholarships (ABS) scheme started in 1999, is a way of pursuing the ideals of late Sri Aditya Vikram Birla, the founder of Aditya Birla Group, who believes in the success or failure of an organization depends on people. Under Aditya Birla Scholarship scheme, some of the brightest scholars entering selected Indian Institutes of Management, Indian Institutes of Technology and the Birla Institute of Technology, Pilani, are selected to become outstanding leaders. Aditya Birla Scholarship which are offered to meritorious students every year, covers the academic fees as well as the hostel fees for the duration of the course, commencing with the academic session of the first year. The scholars are assessed regularly on qualitative and quantitative parameters to judge their performance on the academic achievement and leadership.

Benefits of Aditya Birla Scholarship:

  • Aditya Birla Scholarship provided benefits in the form of financial assistance
  • The Aditya Birla Scholarships cover a large part of academic fees as well as the hostel fees for the IITs / BITS stream and some part of the tuition fee for the management and law streams
  • The students of IIMs / XLRI will get Rs. 175000/- per annum
  • The students of IIT /BITS (Pilani) will get Rs. 65000/- per annum
  • The students of LAW will get Rs. 180000/- per annum or fees at actual, whichever is lower

Eligibility of Aditya Birla Scholarship:

  1. Only those Students from the following institutes are eligible to apply the Aditya Birla Scholarships
  2. IIMs – Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Kolkata, Lucknow, Indore, Khozikode, Shillong
  3. XLRI – Jamshedpur
  4. IITs (B.Tech) – Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Roorkee, Guwahati
  5. BITS (Pilani) Campuses
  6. LAW: National Law School of India University – Bangalore,
  7. NALSAR University of Law – Hyderabad,
  8. The WB National University of Juridical Sciences – Kolkata,
  9. National Law University – Jodhpur

Selection Procedure for Aditya Birla Scholarship:

  1. The 160 students from the IIMs and XLRI, 160 students from the IITs and BITS (Pilani) and 80 students from law campuses will be evaluated on the basis of the information given in the application form
  2. The students overall achievements in academic and co-curricular activities will be assessed to select him/her for the next round
  3. Essays written by students will then be reviewed by a panel to shortlist candidates for the final round
  4. Shortlisted students will be invited for an interview which will determine the best 16 students each from – engineering and management and 8 from law who will be named Aditya Birla Scholars
