On September 24, 2020, CMO Assam, Sarbananda Sonowal launched Arundhati Gold Scheme in the state. This scheme is mainly launched for the Brides whose marriage is registered under the Special Marriage Act, 1954. Assam government will provide a financial assistance of Rs. 30,000 under this scheme to the brides for incurring gold expenditure. Gold is always considered as auspicious. It is an asset investment. Parents usually wish to give some gold along with blessings on their daughter’s marriage, but those who are not financially that sound are not able to fulfill their wish. Thus, the government will share the joy of the parents whose daughters are getting married by giving Rs. 30,000 as a token of love. This assistance will be basically provided to the daughters for purchasing gold.

Scheme Objectives and Benefits:

  • The main objective of this scheme is to provide assistance to purchase gold
  • It is a token of love to the brides for their marriage
  • Financial assistance of Rs. 30,000 will be provided directly into the respective bank accounts
  • This scheme will help those parents who are financially weak and cannot fulfill their wish of buying gold for their daughter’s marriage
  • It will improve the economic status of the female population in the state.

Eligibility:

  • Bride and Groom should have attained 18 and 21 years of legal age respectively.
  • Marriage should be registered under Special Marriage Act, 1954
  • Bride should have registered he marriage on or after January 1, 2020
  • She should apply under the scheme on the same day that she applies for marriage registration
  • Total income of her parents should not be more than 5 lakhs per annum
  • This benefit can be availed for the first marriage only
  • Both bride and groom must have passed HSLC/ Class 12 examination
  • No minimum qualification criteria are applicable to Tea Tribe including Adivasi communities

Documents Required:

  • Age Proof
  • HSLC certificate (except for tea tribe and Adivasi communities)
  • Copy of Certificate of Marriage
  • Income Certificate of parents
  • Bank Account details of the applicant
  • Certificate issued by Gaonburah/ Mouzadar of the village where the girl resided with her parents before marriage, stating it’s the first marriage of the applicant

How to Apply:

  • The applicant is required to fill and submit the physical application form along with marriage application
  • It is to be submitted to the marriage officer where marriage registration is applied for
  • Applicant is also required to fill in the online application form available on the official website of the scheme
  • For applying Online, the applicant has to visit @ revenueasssam.nic.in/arundhati/

  • Click on apply online tab and select the language preference
  • Accordingly, the form will be displayed
  • Fill in the details for eligibility like, community, family income, qualification, marriage registration details, district and SRO

  • Then fill in the applicant details like name, groom’s name, parents name, date of marriage, DOB, mobile no., email id, etc

  • Then fill in the applicant bank details like name, bank name, account no., IFSC code

  • Sign the declaration and click on Submit.
  • Take print out if the submitted form and submit the same with the required documents at the Marriage Registration Office.
  • Application acceptance or rejection will be communicated via SMS and email on the registered mobile and email id in the application form
  • If the application is accepted the benefit amount will be transferred to the bank account of the applicant by the Inspector General of Registration
  • Amount will be transferred through Direct Bank Transfer mode as per the bank details mentioned in the application form.
