Chief Minister’s Self Employment Scheme

The Chief Minister’s Self-Employment Scheme redesigned by Assam State Government in 2001 Ministry of Commerce and Industry Department of Industries & Commerce. The main objective behind introducing this scheme is to provide an opportunity to get jobs to unemployed youth of Assam. Basically, the scheme is started for providing training / Apprenticeship of educated unemployed youth outside Assam in reputed Industrial houses national academies along with a stipend and some traveling expense. Under this scheme, students will get training / Apprenticeship outside the state. Students who are an engineering graduate, Postgraduates & graduates in Science etc. are eligible for applying this scheme. Under this student will possess some skills and will able to become self-employed and earn and get desire job.

Benefits of Chief Minister’s Self-Employment Scheme:

  • Chief Minister’s Self-Employment Scheme provides benefits by providing Apprenticeship or Training to educated unemployed youth outside Assam in reputed Industrial houses national academies along with stipend and travel expenses. Rates of stipend is mentioned below
  • Stipend: Rs. 4500 per month provided along with some traveling expense
  • Unemployed youth would get opportunity of jobs

Required eligibility and conditions for applying Chief Minister’s Self-Employment Scheme:

  1. Students who are permanent residents of Assam state are eligible
  2. Engineering graduate, Postgraduates & graduates in Science / Arts / Commerce / Management Course / Diploma in technical subject / ITI certificate holders / HSC passed youths of Assam are eligible

Document required for applying Chief Minister’s Self-Employment Scheme:

  1. Aadhar card
  2. Proof of permanent residence
  3. Educational documents and certificates e.g. Degree certificate
  4. Banks details required for stipend deposit e.g. IFSC code, MICR code, account number, branch name
  5. Identity proof e.g. voter ID, PAN card
