Chiranjeevi Yojana

The Chiranjeevi Yojana is started by Gujarat government (Health and Family Welfare Department) to stabilize its population growth by reducing the fertility rate, lowering infant mortality rate and maternal mortality ratio. The scheme is introduced for women who belong to Below Poverty Line or Above Poverty Line (Non-Tax Payer) when she is pregnant and about to deliver a baby by improving the access to Institutional deliveries and reducing the maternal deaths

Benefits of Chiranjeevi Yojana:

  • Poor women will able to access well deliveries facilities with great care of specializes care of doctor which will lead to reducing maternal deaths, infant mortality rate and maternal mortality ratio
  • Scheme provides them entitlement for free delivery care in private hospitals
  • Scheme provides immediate access to Emergency Obstetric Care when needed
  • Decline in maternal mortality ratio & infant mortality rate
  • Rise in institutional deliveries and decrease in home deliveries
  • Both normal and complicated delivery including C-Sections operation and blood transfusion to targeted group will be done
  • She also receives transportation charges from the doctor
  • The women can get benefit of Bal Sakha Scheme also

Required eligibility and conditions for applying Chiranjeevi Yojana:

  1. The women who belong to BPL (Below Poverty Line ) and APL (Above Poverty Line) and who are pregnant are eligible to get benefits of Chiranjeevi Yojana

Document required for applying Chiranjeevi Yojana:    

  1. The women required to have BPL or APL ration card
  2. Tribal certificate
  3. Authorization by local recognized authority
  4. Application form is available with hospital itself

Whom to contact and where to contact:

  1. Chiranjeevi hospitals are available at district level just beneficiary women need to get information about where the is hospitals and which belongs to her district and joined with Chiranjeevi scheme
  2. Women can contact to District Development officer or Chief District Health Officer if she faces any obstacles while availing benefits
  3. Women can contact to primary social worker ASHA
  4. Anganwadi centers
