Dairy Entrepreneur Development Scheme

Dairy Entrepreneur Development Scheme is started by Maharashtra government Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries (DAHD&F) titled as “Venture Capital Scheme for Dairy and Poultry”. The main objective of the scheme is to extend assistance for setting up small dairy farms and other components to bring structural changes in the dairy sector, Assistance under this scheme will be provided in the form of Interest Free Loan (IFL) to individual, NGOs, SGHs, Cooperatives, companies for selected components. As the scheme aims at promoting entrepreneurial qualities then it will tends to promote setting up of modern dairy farms for production of clean milk, generate self-employment and provide infrastructure mainly for unorganized sector.

Eligibility for Dairy Entrepreneur Development Scheme:

  1. Farmers, individual entrepreneurs, NGOs, companies, groups of unorganized and organized sector etc. Groups of organized sector include self-help groups, dairy cooperative societies, milk unions, milk federations all are eligible
  2. More than one member of a family can be assisted under the scheme provided they set up separate units with separate infrastructure at different locations. The distance between the boundaries of two such farms should be at least 500m

Documents required for the scheme:

  1. Address proof (e.g. Electricity bill, Water bill, Aadhar card and Voter id)
  2. Identity proof (e.g. Aadhar card, Election card)
  3. Land ownership documents (in case an individual wants the assistance)
  4. NGO and other organization registration number (in case an NGO wants the assistance)
  5. Bank Passbook to get bank details
  6. 7/12 of farmland (in case farmer is enrolling for the assistance)

Application form:

Application forms are available at nearest banks which can be any Commercial Bank, Regional Rural Bank, State Co-operative Bank, State Co-operative Agricultural and Rural Development Banks and institutions refined and verifies by NABARD.

Since the bank is the only organization responsible for giving financial assistance beneficiary has to go to any nearest bank where he has an account.
