GHMC Driver cum Owner Scheme

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) announced the launch of ‘4-wheel Tipper Driver cum Owner’ scheme aka Driver cum Owner Scheme (DCO). A government constituted committee on GHMC consisting of the public representatives for implementation of the scheme. The scheme has been launched in order to help the unemployed youth of the city and make them a part of the “Swach Hyderabad campaign”.

This scheme is to provide employment opportunities for the unemployed youth who are having valid driving license and willing to the drivers job with Government Departments / Private organizations / Cab Services. The GHMC will help the selected applicants in getting loan and eligible subsidy, monthly repayment loan, provide contribution toward EMI, allocate area for garbage collection, earmark transfer station for garbage, training, monitoring etc.

Benefits of the GHMC Driver cum Owner Scheme:

  • The GHMC Driver cum Owner Scheme provides benefits in Telangana state to buy vehicle to unemployed persons aged between 21 and 35
  • These cabs are being used for transportation of officers with a salary of Rs 25,000 to drivers
  • Easy availability of loan
  • No restriction of loan repayment
  • 5 to 7 years are given for repayment of loan as a moratorium period

Required Eligibility and Conditions for Applying GHMC Driver cum Owner Scheme:

  1. The Applicant’s age should be from 21 to 35 years
  2. Should have white ration card with valid driving license with minimum of three years of driving experience
  3. Should be ready to contribute 15% of the project cost and willing to get tied up with bank for 85% of loan component
  4. The eligible subsidy would be based on the caste

Document Required for Applying GHMC Driver cum Owner Scheme:

  1. White Ration card
  2. Driving Licensed by Transport with Badge Number
  3. Residence Proof
  4. Caste Certificate provided by Government
  5. Pan card / Voter id card
  6. Latest Passport size colour photographs

Application Procedure:

  1. The interested individuals can approach the Citizen Service Centres (CSC) of concerned GHMC Deputy Commissioner’s office of respective zone
  2. Completely filled application form should submit to these office with all required documents
