Chhattisgarh government scheme for livestock owners to production and sell fertilizer and vermicompost

Chhattisgarh government has lunched a new scheme “Godhan Nyay Yojana“/गोधन न्याय योजना. This livestock scheme is announced by Chhattisgarh’s Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel through digital press conference. The scheme will begin from 20 July, 2020 on the occasion on Hareli festival which is local festival of the Chhattisgarh. As per the scheme livestock owners need to collect the cow dung and fertilize it or let it dry and make profit by selling it to farmers and government. Government will also use the cowsheds in the villages of the state to produce fertilizers and vermicompost. These fertilizer will be sold to farmers and other departments of the government

The scheme will help in reducing open cattle grazing, stray animals on the street, road accidents and deaths. With the financial befits of the scheme the farmers will be able to take care of their cattle and animals. They will be able to provide fodder, water and stockyard.

Entire procedure of the scheme will be finalized by committee of Principal secretaries and chief secretary. Selling price of cow dung will be fixed by the committee. It will include Agriculture and Water Resource Minister Forest Minister, Cooperatives Minister, Urban Administration Minister, Revenue Minister.

Government schemes for farmers

CM of Chhattisgarh also introduce solid waste processing plant initiative. He emphasis on production of fertilizers and fuel through daily garbage and vermicompost. Fuel can be used in cement factories and fertilizers by farmers and other industries. These production of recycled will help to increase state economy as well as keep the state clean.
