Journalists Health Insurance Scheme

To provide insurance coverage to the media persons in the state thereby ensuring their health-life balance and welfare.

Jharkhand state government has newly come up with Journalists Health Insurance Scheme in the state. Chief Minister Hemant Soren approved the formulation and draft document of the Jharkhand State Journalist Health Insurance Scheme Rules, 2021. Information and Public Relations department will prepare the draft proposal. Approval of the proposal will be given by the state cabinet. This scheme will cover all the media personnel in Jharkhand state. Under this scheme beneficiaries will be covered under group insurance. Media person with his/ her spouse and two unmarried dependent children will get the benefit of this scheme. This intends to provide an insurance coverage to the media persons thereby ensuring their welfare in the state. It will thereby ensure a health life balance of the media persons and their families.

  • This insurance coverage will be provided to the media persons with a validity of one year.
  • The media person can renew the insurance coverage every year as per will.
  • For claiming the insurance amount, the applicant will have to fill in the required information in the claim form and submit along with a copy of FIR lodged with police, post mortem or certificate of medical board and death certificate.
  • After approval of the claim, the authorities will transfer the insurance amount to the applicable bank account.
  • This scheme is mainly planned to ensure health security and welfare of the media persons in the state.
