Kharif Paddy Procurement Scheme

To provide a platform and benefit the farmers in the state

West Bengal government is planning to launch a new scheme for Kharif Paddy procurement from the farmers. Food and Supplies Minister, Jyotipriya Mallick announced some of the scheme details. This procurement will be made by the government for the public distribution system in the state. It will enable the farmers to sell their rice in quintals to the government. In the current situation, the cultivation is high and demand for the same is low this leads to lower price to the farmers.  This scheme will thereby protect the farmers with a fixed minimum support price which is yet to be fixed by the state government
