To enable the farmers to use irrigation facilities and improve the overall farming conditions

Hon. Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi inaugurated ‘Kisan Suryodaya Yojana’ on October 24, 2020 through video conferencing. This scheme is launched in Gujarat state. It will be implemented under the leadership of CMO Gujarat, Mr. Vijay Rupani. This scheme will cover the all the farmers in the state. Under this scheme electricity will be provided to the farmers for irrigation. Farmers will get the electricity supply form 5 am to 9 pm every day. Gujarat government has sanctioned a budget of Rs. 3500 crores for this scheme.

  • Kisan Suryodaya Yojana is an initiative for the farmers in Gujarat state
  • PM Narendra Modi inaugurated the scheme today i.e. October 24, 2020 via video conferencing
  • It will be implemented throughout the Gujarat state under the leadership of CM Vijay Rupani
  • This scheme is mainly for providing uninterrupted power supply to the farmers for undertaking irrigation facility
  • Under the scheme power supply will be provided to the farmers from 5 am to 9 pm
  • Uninterrupted power supply and irrigation facility will boost the productivity of farms and increase the farm produce
  • By 2023 a transmission infrastructure will be formed in the state whereby 234 transmission lines with 66 KW power will be included under the scheme
  • State government has allocated a scheme budget of Rs. 3500 crores for the scheme
  • This scheme is a new effort for benefiting the farmers and their farm produce.
