LED Village Light Yojana: a skill development programme for women launched in Uttarakhand

The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Shree Trivendra Singh Rawat launched LED Village Light Yojana: a skill development programme for women in the state. The objective of the scheme is to empower women in the rural and remote areas and provide them self employment and employment opportunities around them. Various training programs will be arranged for women via Self-help Groups and make women self-dependent.

LED Light Training Program Details:

  • A five day session program
  • Women self-help groups are given responsibility of the training programs
  • In first phase, how to make LED Chandelliers, LED Hangings, LED Bulbs, LED Tube-lights and solar emergency lights will be taught
  • Total 50 women from 10 women self-help groups will be trained in the first phase

The state government will also help in marketing and selling manufactured items said the CM in his speech. The manufacturing and promotion of local products will reduce use of Chinese products. The CM also distributed kits for manufacturing LED products
