Haryana Government has launched a scheme Mera Pani Meri Virasat Scheme. Under the scheme
Government encourage former to conserve water for future generation and grow alternative crop (arhar dal, bajra, ,urad dal, maize, til and cotton) rather than paddy. Government provide Rs.7000 to former who follow this initiative where the water level is below the 35 meter.

- Scheme is applicable for former only
- Scheme is applicable for Haryana state only
- Scheme is applicable for filed where water level below 35 meter
- Scheme is applicable for selected 19 blocks where water depth is over 40 meter
