Laptop and TV for students along with opportunity to access online classes under the Kudumbashree

Government of Kerala is starting a new initiative Micro Chitty Scheme for students. Under the scheme Kerala government will be distributing 2 lakh laptops. The scheme will be implemented in next three months. Government is also planning to provide neighborhood learning centers to students for attending online classes during COVID-19.

Subsidized TV and Laptop will be provided to students under the scheme. Kerala State Financial Enterprises will be implementing the scheme. KSFE with the help of local authorities will set up center for online classes and give 25% money to set up the center.

Eligibility:

  • Scheme will be applicable for the Kerala state only
  • Scheme is applicable for students

Under the scheme beneficiaries have to pay Rs. 500 monthly for 30 months. If beneficiaries will pay on time 10 installment of the scheme than government will give Rs.1,500 with next installment as reward to consumer. Laptop distributor will be selected by Kudumbashree under the tender issue from IT department. Kudumbashree will get 2% commission on each installment, if they add beneficiaries for the scheme. Local self-governing bodies, SC, ST department and fisheries department will be able to distribute subsidy to laptop buyer. Subsidy will be paid at KSFE
