The Morom Scheme for Providing Financial Support to Indoor Patients of Govt. Hospitals are started by Assam Government (Ministry of Health and Family Welfare) to provide financial support to indoor patients of government health institutions for supplementary nutrition. The facility is available only for an indoor patient admitted in Govt. Hospitals. The Morom Scheme is aimed at compensating the wage loss during the period of hospitalization for the wage earners and for meeting the diet requirement and post-hospitalization care of the patient. The scheme is effective from 1st May 2010. It is a Govt. of Assam sponsored scheme

Benefits of Morom Scheme for Providing Financial Support to Indoor Patients of Govt. Hospitals:

  • Morom Scheme for Providing Financial Support to Indoor Patients of Govt Hospitals provides benefits in the form of financial assistance to patients of government health intuitions. The structure of financial assistance is mentioned below
  • Patient in Medical Colleges: 75 per day for a maximum of 7 days will be given
  • Patient in District Hospitals: 50 per day for a maximum of 5 days will be given
  • Patient in SDCH/CHC/PHC: 30 per day for a maximum of 5 days will be given

Required eligibility and conditions for applying Morom Scheme for Providing Financial Support to Indoor Patients of Govt. Hospitals:

  1. Candidate must be a resident of Assam state
  2. Candidate must have been taking treatment from Government Health Institution
  3. The payment of the benefit would be made by the Accounts Manager of the concerned Health Institution after verification of the admission and discharge record

Document required for applying Morom Scheme for Providing Financial Support to Indoor Patients of Govt. Hospitals:

  1. Aadhar card
  2. Residence proof e.g. certificate from residence authority
  3. Certificate from hospital regarding treatment (if needed)
  4. BPL ration card (if available)

Application procedure:

  1. Candidate can meet to Accounts Manager of the concerned Health Institution and can get to know about application procedure
  2. When a common poor people, especially daily wage earners when will get ill and will get admission in the Medical College, District Hospital Hospitals, Community Health Centers, and Primary Health centers then He / She will get benefit by this scheme after filling the proper information in concern form
