To provide employment for women, the State Government of Assam (Social Welfare Department) has launched Mukhya Mantri Mahila Samridhi Yojana for Women in Assam. The main purpose of the scheme is to provide microfinance to the women Self Help Groups (SHG). This scheme helps in economic stability among especially for rural women. In this scheme, poor women, widow women, economically backward women can get benefits of Mukhya Mantri Mahila Samridhi Yojana for Women in Assam. Self-Help Group (SHG) is a small voluntary association of poor people, preferably from the same socio-economic background. They come together for the purpose of solving their common problems through self-help and mutual help. The SHG promotes small savings among its members. The savings are kept with a bank. This common fund is in the name of the SHG. SHG is a group formed by the community, which has a specific number of members like 15 or 20. Usually, the number of members in one SHG does not exceed twenty. In such a group the poorest would come together for emergency, disaster, social reasons, economic support to each other have ease of conversation, social interaction, and economic interactions. The main advantage of Women Empowerment is that there will be an overall development of the society. The money earns by the women not only help them to make their life easy or their family, but it also helps develop the society

Eligibility for Mukhya Mantri Mahila Samridhi Yojana for Women:

  1. Applicant should be Assam state
  2. The maximum no. of women member in a Self Help Group should be 20
  3. Women should belong from backward class
  4. Annual income should be less than Rs 1,20,000 in urban areas and for rural areas Rs 98,000

  1. Aadhaar card
  2. Domicile Certificate
  3. Caste certificate
  4. Ration certificate
  5. Bank account details

Application Procedure:

  1. Applicant should contact nearest Bank
  2. Applicant also contact Social Welfare Department and Block Development Office
