On May 22, 2021 the Uttarakhand government announced Mukhya Mantri Vatsalya Yojana for the children facing hardships due to the pandemic situations. This announcement was made by Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat. Under this scheme the state government will take various welfare measures pay for those children who lost their parents due to covid. The state government will provide a financial assistance of Rs. 3000 per month to the children till they attain the age of 21. State government will ensure the children get relevant employment opportunities once they turn 21. Measures will also be taken to ensure no one else sells off their ancestral property until they become adults. This scheme is an important step taken by the state government to take care of the beneficiary children in these tough times.
