Mukhyamantri Shramik Ann Sahayta Yojana: free lunch for laborers

The Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Dr. Raman Singh has launched an innovative free lunch scheme for unorganized laborers in the state capital of Raipur. The scheme was inaugurated by the Agriculture Minister Brijmohan Agrawal and Labour Minister Bhaiyyalal Rajwade on the occasion of ‘Cher-Chera’ and Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary. Under the Mukhyamantri Shramik Ann Sahayta Scheme registered workers in the unorganized sector will get free lunch every morning. The scheme will be implemented by the Labour Ministry of the Government of Chhattisgarh. Raipur city attracts many unskilled workers from the neighboring villages and remote areas. They migrate for their daily livelihood and majority of them work in the construction sector. They are deprived of the nutrition and fall pray to the malnutrition. These workers are not just a construction workers but rather nation builders and we must take cake of them. Providing nutritious food is the first things we should do, they minister said during his address on the occasion. He also said the state government has 24 different schemes for the workers and their family. Daily wage workers just need to register themselves at the counter which will be set up at the Gandhi Maidan and then they will be given lunch boxes everyday at 9 am. They can take this boxes to their work locations and they will get at least one meal everyday. The Mukhyamantri Shramik Ann Sahayta Yojana is presently launched only in Raipur and very soon it will be launched in the entire state.
