Bihar Government has announced Mukhyamantri Vridhajan Pension Yojna (MVPY), a universal old age pension scheme for all. Under the scheme senior citizens (above 60 years of age) will get monthly pension of Rs. 400. The scheme is applicable to all the senior citizens in the state irrespective of their caste, income, community & religion except for those who has retired from government services. The scheme will provide financial security to the old aged people & they will be able to live with dignity.

The present Old Aged Pension Scheme is applicable only to the BPL senior citizens.
Benefits: Monthly pension of Rs. 400

Bihar Mukhyamantri Vridhajan Pension Yojna (MVPY) Registrations & Application Forms:
The state government has just announced the scheme. Application details & forms are not yet available. The implementation of the scheme will start from the 1st April 2019 so the forms are expected to be available at the same time.
CM Nitish Kumar also announced pension scheme for the old aged journalists in the state. They are given monthly pension of Rs. 6,000. The scheme is called as Bihar Patrakar Samman Yojana (BPSY). Under the scheme all the media person who is working regularly in the field of media & not getting any pension are eligible.
