National Talent Search Examination (NTSE)

National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) is the examination conducted to award to the student performing well in their secondary school and higher secondary school. The exam is the initiative by central government but is conducted in every state. Each state conducts the exam in two stages i.e. Stage-I and Stage-II. Stage-I is actually the examination to evaluate students mental ability. The name is Mental Ability Test (MAT), Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) and other is second Stage-II test which is conducted later. The student clearing both test will get scholarship depending on their academics. There are total 1000 scholarships awarded every year.

Benefits of National Talent Search Examination:

  • Scholarships covering many streams: The scholarship covers basic science courses till P. hd. And other technical, management courses till post-graduate.
  • Scholarship of Rs. 1250: Students who are in their XI & XII standards will get Rs. 1250 scholarship per month
  • Scholarship of Rs. 2000: Students who are pursuing under-graduate or post-graduate level study will get RS. 2000 per month
  • No state wise criteria at final stage: The benefit of the scheme is that in stage-I there is state quota but in the stage-II the selection is on merit basis.
  • Category wise reservation: For different reserved category there are different quota like for Scheduled Caste (SC) its 15%, for Scheduled Tribe (ST) its 7.5% and for Physically Handicapped (PH) its 1%

Eligibility for National Talent Search Examination:

  1. Candidate must be in his/her 10th or 12th std. while attending the examination
  2. Indian students studying abroad and are in their 10th there are also eligible for the award
  3. Candidate of reserved category are given pretty good preferences

Documents Required:

  1. Complete application form
  2. Resident proof (Aadhar Number, Ration Card, Landline telephone bill by MTNL, Driving License, Domicile certificate or Bank passbook of Nationalize banks)
  3. Mark sheets of 10th/12th whichever is applicable
  4. Aadhar card
  5. Caste Certificate
  6. Non-Creamy Layer
  7. Passport size photographs

Application forms are available at NCERT website every year and to apply student has to fill it, and send it to the undersign address given in the brochure.
