One-time Cash Transfer Scheme

Poor families in UP villages to get Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000 for health care and ration

UP Government has announced One-time Cash Transfer Scheme (डायरेक्ट कैश ट्रांसफर स्कीम). This scheme is for poor families which are in need of financial support due to corona pandemic. The scheme provide health care and food support for families without ration cards. Needy families will get financial help of Rs.1,000 to Rs.5,000. State Finance Commission will provide funds to gram panchayats for the scheme. Rs 4,340 crores is given to gram panchayats out of which 3% i.e. Rs 130 crores reserved for One-time Cash Transfer Scheme. Objective of the scheme provide food security, health care and financial assistants for last rites.

  • Rs.1,000: Food-grains without ration cards

  • Beneficiaries without ration card will be given ration card afterwards

Eligibility:

  • Scheme is applicable only for poor families
  • Scheme is applicable for Uttar Pradesh villages only
  • Ration cards are not required for the scheme

District magistrates will provide more funds from Chief Minister relief fund if gram panchayat needs more. Gram panchayats will select beneficiaries for the scheme. They will provide details of the beneficiaries such as name, address and mobile number to the Panchayati Raj Department Directorate. The department will distribute funds to gram panchayats.

Summery:
As per the scheme poor and needy families will get Rs 1000 for food-grains. They do not required ration card for this scheme. They will also get Rs 2000 for health care for the treatment in case they can not afford it. These beneficiaries will also be covered under central and state healthcare schemes later.
