Pre-Matric Scholarship to Children of those Parents Engaged In Unclean Occupations

The Pre-Matric Scholarship To Children is the scheme started by the government of Punjab for providing financial help to children whose parents are working as a trainers and flayers. This scheme has been covered under Dedicated Social Security Fund from the year 2005-06. The financial assistance is provided to students of those parents who are presently engaged in manual scavenging or were so engaged up-to or after 1. 1. 1997 and it includes those who may be cleaning human excreta, on a regular basis, either from dry latrines or drains, sewers, septic tanks, manholes etc.

Benefits of Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme :

  • The scheme will provide the scholarship of Rs. 110/- p.m. for 10 months in a year to those students who are studying in class 1 to class 10
  • If students are blind then government will provide reader allowance, transport allowance for those parents engaged in unclean occupations
  • The scheme will provide the allowance of Rs. 100 per month towards extra coaching to mentally retarded and mentally ill students of those parents worked in unclean occupation

Eligibility for Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme :

  1. Scholarship will be provided to only those students whose parents work in unclean occupation
  2. If children are adopted by such person who is working in unclean occupation is also eligible to get the benefits of this scheme but parents need certificate (such as of proof of their occupation, date of adoption etc.) must have
  3. Applicant is must be resident of Punjab state

Documents required for applying Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme :

  1. Residence Proof e.g. certificate from residence authority (Electricity bill, Water connection bill, etc)
  2. Aadhar Card
  3. Income certificate of parent (ex. form no 16)
  4. Occupation certificate of parent
