To empower women and make them self-reliant through promoting self-employment opportunities and SHGs

Delhi government has newly announced ‘Saheli Samanvay Kendra’ for empowering the women across the state. This initiative was announced by Deputy CM, Manish Sisodia at the time of presenting state budget for the year on March 9, 2021. Under this initiative, 500 anganwadi hubs will be established across the state to promote individual start-ups as well as SHGs. This initiative mainly focuses on empowering women by assisting them to start small businesses in the state. The state government has set aside a budget of Rs. 4750 crores for the Department of Social Welfare, Women and Child Development and Welfare of SC/ ST/ OBC.
