Scheme for Scholarship to Young Artistes in Different Cultural Fields

India is always considered as a land of culture where there is huge variety of cultures available. India is the only country in the world which has 22 official languages and each language represents different culture. To prevent this peculiarity government of India launched the scholarship scheme for young artist which is governed by Ministry of Culture. Since the youth is India’s future promoting them to undertake Indian culture forms will indirectly promote and spread the Indian culture in the world. Scheme for Scholarship to Young Artistes in Different Cultural Fields is given to 400 such youths who wants to become master is some of the art form. Scholarship to Young Artistes applicants has to go through an interview by an expert further which results are declared in news papers and on official website of Scholarship to Young Artistes.

Benefits of Scheme for Scholarship to Young Artistes in Different Cultural Fields:

  • Scholarship for next two years: The candidate winning the scholarship will get Rs. 5000 per month for the next two years
  • Training in the art form: For the next two year the candidate will get expert training

Subjects/Fields in which Scholarships can be provided:

  1. Indian Classical Music: Classical Hindustani Music (Vocal & Instrumental), Classical Carnatic Music (Vocal & Instrumental)
  2. Indian Classical Dance/Dance Music: Bharatnatyam, Kathak, Kuchipudi, Kathakali, Mohiniattam, Odissi Dance/Music, Manipuri Dance/Music, Thangta, Gaudiya Nritya, Chhau Dance/Music, Sattriya Dance
  3. Theatre: Any specialized aspect of theatre art, including acting, direction, etc., but excluding play writing & research, Mime
  4. Visual art: Graphics, Painting, Sculpture, Creative Photography, Pottery & Ceramics, etc.
  5. Folk, Traditional & Indigenous arts: Puppetry, Folk Theatre, Folk Dance, Folk Music
  6. Light Classical Music: Thumri, Dadra, Tappa, Qawali, Ghazal, Light Classical music based on Carnatic style, Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrul Geeti, Atulprasad

Eligibility for Scheme for Scholarship to Young Artistes in Different Cultural Fields:

  1. Candidate should be an Indian National
  2. Candidate should have an adequate general education to pursue their training effectively
  3. Candidate must give the evidence of their desire to pursue their training effectively
  4. Candidate must have degree of proficiency in the chosen field
  5. The candidate should have undergone a minimum of 5 years training with their Gurus/Institutes. The Certificate to this effect in Part II of the Proforma duly signed by the present Guru/Institute (if any) should be submitted along with the application
  6. Candidates age should be in the age group of 18-25 years

Documents Required:

  1. One self-attested copy of all educational qualification certificates (degrees, diplomas)
  2. One self-attested copy of matriculation examination certificate (SSC)
  3. Birth Certificate
  4. One recent passport size photograph
  5. Applicant in the field of painting, photography, Sculpture and Applied arts should produce original photocopies of their work
  6. Complete online application form
  7. Degree/Certificate by Guru/Institutes in the chosen art form

Every year fresh application are released for candidates to apply. The notification of application form is given in every leading newspapers and the link to download and fill up application form is given in that advertisement
