केरल में एन्डोसल्फान पीड़ितों के लिए स्नेहाश्वन्मम स्कीम (हिंदी में) 

Snehasanthwanam scheme launched by the State Government of Kerala (Social Justice Department) for providing relief to the endosulfan victims. Under this scheme, the government provides financial assistance to the endosulphan victims who are severely affected, disabled and bedridden. Kasaragod is the northernmost districts in Kerala & cashew plantations extend to about 5600 acres in the areas. Endosulfan is a chemical which is widely used as pesticides and insecticides for cashew plantations. This lethal pesticide sprayed on the cashew plantations was absorbed in the soil and the stream, which severely scarring the lives of many people along the cashew plantation area of Kasaragod District. The UNO classifies Endosulfan as highly dangerous insect killer and banned in 62 countries. Even despite the fact that Endosulfan is banned now, for over 26 years, Kerala Government sprayed the deadly pesticide in government-owned cashew plantations under Plantation Corporation of Kerala. Hence, the government started this scheme to provide Care and protection to the endosulphan victims. Kerala government started the various scheme for the welfare of the people. The state has initiated many social security schemes for the poor people and this scheme really help to those people who are endosulfan victims

Benefits of Snehasanthwanam Scheme:

  • Financial assistance of Rs. 2000/- is given to bedridden endosulfan victims
  • Benefits of the assistance of Rs. 1700/- to such bedridden endosulfan victims who are getting Rs. 300/- as disability pension
  • All other endosulfan victims are given financial assistance of Rs. 1000/- based on the list of endosulfan victims furnished by District Collector
  • It also aims educational assistance to the children’s
  • Class 1st to 7th: Educational assistance of Rs. 2000/- to children studying in class 1st  to 7th
  • Class 8th to 10th: Educational assistance of  Rs.  3000/- to children studying in class 8th  to 10th
  • Class 11th to 12th : Educational assistance of Rs.4000/- to children studying in class 11th to 12th
  • In addition to this, Kerala Social Security Mission is now providing monthly assistance to the caregivers of endosulfan victims who are fully bedridden or mentally retarded of Rs.700/- per month under special Aswasakiranam scheme
  • Also, the Government have directed the Mission to provide an ambulance to 11 endosulfan affected Panchayaths of Kasargod & to increase the wages of Rs. 1500/- per month to the buds school employees of endosulfan affected panchayath’s of Kasargod district

Eligibility for Snehasanthwanam Scheme:

  1. Applicant should be resident of Kerala state
  2. Endosulfan victims are eligible for this scheme

  4. Medical certificate
  5. Bank account details
