Government of India has launched Solarisation scheme for Konark sun temple and Konark town. Government is providing help of Rs.25 crore to set-up 10 MW solar power plants and off grid (battery storage) power plants. Under the scheme entire Konark temple and Konark town will be 100% powered by solar energy. Solar trees, solar drinking water kiosks will be installed their. Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) started working on this scheme. Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency (OREDA) will be Implementing this scheme.
