Special Education and Vocational Training through Government Institutions in Maharashtra

Special Education and Vocational Training through Government institutions are launched by the state government of Maharashtra in association with Social Justice and Special Assistance Department. Under this scheme, the government provides free education to disabled children such as Visually Impaired, Hearing Impaired, and Orthopedically Handicapped child in Maharashtra. The benefits provided to Child with a disability has access to free education in an appropriate environment till he/she attains the age of eighteen years & above 18 years vocational training given to special children. In this scheme, the free facilities of food, shelter, clothing, and education are provided to disabled children’s in government institutes. These institutes are especially run for disabled children’s in the state. The objective of the scheme to gives Special education to disabled children between age group of 6 to 18 years in special schools. Vocational training is also provided to special children’s above the age of 18 years. Those persons who are physically handicapped such as visually handicapped, Low vision, hearing impaired and orthopedically handicapped will get benefits under this scheme. The main aim behind introducing this scheme is to support and encourage trained disabled persons so that they should be able to live the common life. Eligibility for Special Education and Vocational Training through Government Institutions:

  • Applicant should have minimum 40% disability
  • Applicant should be Domicile in Maharashtra
  • Application should be in given format and submitted to concern Government Institutions

Documents required for Special Education and Vocational Training through Government Institutions:

  1. Aadhaar card
  2. Certificate of disability having percentage of disability 40% or above

Benefits provided under this scheme differ from 1st std. to 10th std. for Special Education and Vocational Training through Government Institutions:

  1. Applicant should fill application form in prescribed format with necessary documents and submitted to concern Government Institute run for disabled persons in Maharashtra
  2. Applicant should contact government Institutions for disabled, district Social Welfare Office, Zilla Parishad and Assistant Commissioner Social Welfare Office, Mumbai Urban & Mumbai Suburban
