The objective of the scheme is to promote women education and to give girl equality and dignity. Benefits of Swami Vivekananda Single Girl Child Scholarship:

  • The Swami Vivekananda single girl child scholarship for research in social sciences provides benefits in terms of financial assistance like mention below
  • The amount of Scholarship is :
    1. 12, 400/- per month for first two years
    2. 15, 500/- per month for third and fourth year (Extendable for the fifth year in exceptional circumstances)

Required eligibility and conditions for Swami Vivekananda Single Girl Child Scholarship:

  1. The girl students who are admitted in Ph. D. program in social sciences in Universities / Institutes and happen to be the only girl child in the family without having any brother or the girl student who are twin daughters/ fraternal daughter is eligible for apply
  2. Girl students up to the age of 40 years for general and 45 years for the reserved category SC/ST/OBC and physically handicapped at the time of admission in Ph.D. courses are eligible
  3. Any single girl child of her parents
  4. The scheme is applicable to such a single girl child who has taken admission in regular, full-time Ph. D. program in Social Sciences in any recognized University/Institute. Admission to Ph.D. Course in Distance education mode is not covered under the scheme

Application procedure for Swami Vivekananda Single Girl Child Scholarship and document required: 

  1. The candidate is required to submit an application only through ONLINE MODE
  2. Proof of admission in Ph.D. degree course in a recognized Indian University covered under Section 2(f) and 12(B) of UGC Act
  3. A certificate from the University/Institute where student has taken admission to Ph.D. Course
  4. Proof of being single girl child- An affidavit on Rs.50/- stamp paper from the student/parent duly attested by SDM / First Class Magistrate / Gazetted Officer (not below the rank of Tahsildar) copying the prescribed languages
  5. Mark sheet for Under-Graduate and Post-Graduate degree
  6. Degree certificate
  7. Bank details, account number, account holder name, IFSC code, MICR code
  8. Aadhar card
  9. Caste certificate

Application procedure:

  1. Step 1: The applicant has to apply through online mode only
  2. Step 2: Go to official site (http://www.ugc.ac.in) there will be tab “Apply Now” click on it and fill application form and submit it
